2019-20 Heisman prediction
Kyler Murray was the 2018 Heisman Trophy winner. After trailing Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa all season in the Heisman odds, the Oklahoma Sooners QB claimed the award to give OU back-to-back Heisman winners (following Baker Mayfield in 2017).

With Murray weighing his future between the NFL and the MLB, the field is set for a new Stiff Arm Trophy winner. Tagovailoa is a deserved favorite, with his electric play this season leading the Crimson Tide to the top of the college football playoff rankings. Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence has also put up video game numbers and will be the undisputed QB1 for the Tigers next year. Will it be Tagovailoa or Lawrence in 2019? Who’s your pick to win the Heisman next year?

College football weekly recap and highlights
2018 natty finalists Clemson and Alabama opened their seasons without skipping a beat, winning their opening games by almost 40 points each. Eighth-ranked Florida survived unranked Miami 24-20, but it was business as usual everywhere else in the country, as the big boys feasted on the cupcakes.

Looking ahead to Week 2, the top game to watch is No. 10 Texas vs. No. 6 LSU. The Longhorns had an up-and-down 2018 season but notched a signature win over rival Oklahoma and denied SEC East champion Georgia a place in the College Football Playoff. Is Texas truly back? We’ll find out this week as the Horns host the physical Bayou Bengals, who opened the season with a 55-3 demolition of Georgia Southern.

Utah Utes vs Northern Illinois Huskies

Utah Utes vs Northern Illinois Huskies Live : NIU Huskies vs Utah Utes Odds – Saturday September 7 2019. Live betting odds and lines, betting trends, against the spread and over/under, This isn’t a trend limited to a single game or opponent. Utah’s coaching staff drills a mantra of “four and a score” into players’ heads from spring to fall. The Utes make it their primary goal to create at least four turnovers and score a defensive touchdown in every game.

“It just drives us to be ball hawks,” Johnson said. “We always want the ball, whether it’s fumbles or interceptions. Anything we can do to get the ball, we just want to do it.”

Turnovers proved pivotal when Utah faced Northern Illinois a year ago. The Utes pulled away for a 17-6 win when Chase Hansen returned an interception for a touchdown with 2:36 left. Utah forced two turnovers and limited the Huskies to 228 yards. It helped the Utes overcome a pair of turnovers from their own offense.

“Northern Illinois is a team that gave us fits last year,” Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said. “We were lucky to escape there with a win.”The Huskies appear capable of making it tough again in the rematch.

Northern Illinois won 24-10 over Illinois State in its opener after quarterback Ross Bowers put up some big numbers in his debut. Bowers, a graduate transfer from California, threw for 299 yards and a pair of second-half touchdowns. His passing helped the Huskies rebound from a listless first half on offense.

It also complemented a defensive effort that saw Northern Illinois hold the Redbirds to 238 total yards. The Huskies clinched a win on Jared McKie’s 32-yard interception return with 2:31 remaining.

“I just really liked the fight of our team,” first-year coach Thomas Hammock said. “Our players did not flinch. They stayed in the moment. They handled adversity. They handled the pressure.”

Utah will use two kickers Saturday. Freshman Jadon Redding will get the call for field goals and PATs while UCLA transfer Andrew Strauch will handle kickoffs.Whittingham made the switch to Redding after Strauch missed a PAT and a 25-yard field goal against BYU. Redding took over in the fourth quarter after Strauch’s field goal miss and kicked the PAT on each of Utah’s final two touchdowns.

A knee injury in spring ball forced Daniel Crawford to sit out the entire 2018 season. Now Crawford is back and showing signs he may become a top target for Bowers in 2019.The redshirt senior caught three passes for 75 yards against Illinois State. Crawford had catches of 45 and 27 yards to set up field goal attempts for Northern Illinois. Coming into the season, he had totaled just 65 yards on seven catches for his career,

Northern Illinois experienced more success than any other team in containing Zack Moss last season, holding him to a season-low 66 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries.Moss opened his senior season by churning out 187 yards and a touchdown against BYU. He averaged 6.5 yards per carry against the Cougars. Moss has rushed for at least 100 yards in his last four contests dating back to October and is coming off back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons.

“He is put together as well as any back we’ve ever had come through here,” Whittingham said.

Utah vs Northern Illinois 2019

Utah vs Northern Illinois 2019 : Football is finally back at Rice-Eccles Stadium this Saturday, Sept. 7 as the No. 14 University of Utah football team is set to take on the Huskies , One year ago  off the beaten path in rural DeKalb, Illinois, about an hour out of Chicago — the Utah Utes found themselves in a dogfight. The Northern Illinois Huskies gave them quite a battle.Utah escaped with a 17-6 win that day, but didn’t manage to lock down the outcome until linebacker Chase Hansen returned an interception 40 yards for a touchdown with just 2:36 left to play.

It wasn’t the best of afternoons for the visitors. Utah surrendered seven sacks, lost two fumbles, had a field-goal attempt blocked and muffed a punt return.“Probably tougher than it should have been,” Hansen said at the time. “I feel like no win is ever easy. That one was just physical. They are a good team. They’ve got good players. It doesn’t matter what conference you play in or whatever it is. They’ve got some guys.”

As Saturday’s rematch at Rice-Eccles Stadium approaches, Utah coach Kyle Whittingham acknowledged it serves as a reminder that the Utes have to be ready to play every week.

“I want to give them credit because I don’t want to say we just slopped around. They had a good plan against us,” Whittingham said. “They had good players, too, with Sutton Smith really jumping out. He was a tremendous player. It was just a testament that you have to be on your game or you are going to struggle, so we have to be on our game.”

Smith, a defensive end who led the nation one year in quarterback pressures, tackles for loss and sacks, is no longer with NIU. He entered the NFL draft after his junior season and was taken by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the sixth round.

The Huskies, who won eight games in 2018, including the Mid-American Conference championship game and the Boca Raton Bowl, have endured other major changes as well. Head coach Rod Carey left for Temple and former Baltimore Ravens running backs coach Thomas Hammock is now in charge at NIU, his alma mater. Hammock worked with Utah offensive coordinator Andy Ludwig under Gary Andersen at Wisconsin in 2013.

The Huskies opened the Hammock era last week with a 24-10 victory at home against Illinois State. As such, there isn’t a lot of history to draw upon prior to Saturday’s game.

”It is tough to say with only one game,” Whittingham said. “But they have a good running back who rushed for around 100 yards. They have speed at wideout with a kid going for over 100 yards at wide receiver. They are very sound on defense, fundamentally and technique-wise. Punter has a very strong leg, averaged about 45 yards per kick and punted eight or nine times.”

Whittingham added that “the main thing” that has Utah’s attention “is that we escaped the game last year by the skin on our teeth.”

NIU quarterback Ross Bowers is a graduate transfer from Cal. In 2017, he led the Golden Bears with 3,039 yards passing. In his debut with the Huskies, Bowers threw for 299 yards and two touchdowns.

Junior running back Tre Harbison netted 99 yards on 23 carries last week, while junior wide receiver Tyrice Richie had two touchdown catches.

The defense includes sophomore cornerback Jalen McKie, who had a pick-six against Illinois State. Junior punter Matt Ference averaged 44.5 yards per kick.

“I was so happy with the way our team played and how they responded and a big step for us moving forward in our development,” Hammock said at his weekly press conference.

Watch NCAA football games on fuboTV Don’t have a cable subscription? No problemo. fuboTV is an affordable, no-strings streaming package that includes ESPN. To subscribe to fuboTV, you will need to access the service from a U.S. IP address.
Watching college football games online has become common practice, but there’s more than one way to get your streaming fix. Some digital methods require a paid subscription, and some are free with your service, but every option can help you cut the cord from cable TV or to simply enjoy the game on the go.
This isn’t pro football, so there isn’t one primary provider or flat-fee format that gives you access to all the games. A little mixing and matching may be required, depending on what conference (SEC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12, ACC) you follow. Fortunately, every network that televises college football also allows you to stream, so there are plenty of choices, whether you’re looking for FBS or FCS football games.
So, how do you watch college football games online, whether for free or for a fee? Be it on a phone, tablet, desktop, PS4, Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, or Android TV, here are your best options when you’re left to your own devices.
College Football Streaming Options with Cable/Satellite
Cord-cutting is sweeping the nation, but with the TV Everywhere model, the cable companies are fighting back, to the benefit of college football consumers. If you’re a holdout and haven’t pulled the plug on your cable or satellite service, you can access these popular services through your account via log-in or by downloading the app.
Stream College Football Online Free: WatchESPN

• WatchESPN or the WatchESPN app is exactly what it sounds like: a way to watch streaming simulcasts from the Worldwide Leader’s wide assortment of broadcast options — ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, ESPNU, ESPNews, ESPN Deportes, Longhorn Network, SEC Network, ESPN Goal Line and ESPN Buzzer Beater — and if you can’t find something you like on one of those outlets, then you just don’t like college football (or you’re a Division III purist). You can watch via the WatchESPN.com website; through the app on your Android, iOS or Windows Phone or compatible Windows 9 and Windows 8.1 devices, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One; or via Apple TV or Roku streaming players. (Also, learn more about below, which is carrying a lot of Big 12 games this season.)
Steam college football games online free: Fox Sports Go

• If you’re away from your TV, but you still want to hear Gus Johnson yell at you about “get-away-from-the-cops speed” in his inimitable way, you’re in luck. With FOX Sports GO or the FOX Sports GO app, Gus and the gang follow you wherever you go. Access the games on regular FOX, FS1, or FS2, as well as some games on regional FOX networks on your Apple, Android or Windows device via the FOX Sports GO app, or access it at FOXSportsGO.com or on supported connected devices.
Stream college football games online free: CBS Sports• CBS’s SEC Game of the Week is still must-see TV, and with CBSSports.com, you can get your SEC fix with the conference’s best matchup. You can also get Navy-Army, which makes it worth the effort in and of itself (gotta support the troops, right?). For slightly less high-profile matchups televised by CBS, check out CBS Sports HQ. • For Big Ten and Pac-12 fanatics (or those who pine for the old Rose Bowl tie-ins pitting Middle America vs. the Left Coast), try BTN2Go (anything on the Big Te Network) and Pac-12 Networks Live (anything on the Pac-12 Network).
